Where to run in 2025? The calendar of running events in French-speaking Switzerland and neighbouring France

It's often the same question that comes up:
"Do you know of a nice race around here soon?"

When I launched Léman Running, I started from a simple need: I wanted to know where and when to runWithout having to go from site to site, read PDFs or search social networks. Today, this need has become a tool used every week by hundreds of runners in the region. It's simply called 👉 The race calendar

Over 250 races in one place

The calendar lists more than 250 events for the year 2025, covering all formats: trail, road, verticals, walks, relays and children's races. It covers the whole of French-speaking Switzerland - Vaud, Geneva, Valais, Fribourg - and neighbouring France, notably Haute-Savoie and Ain.

Each race is presented with useful information:
📍 location, 📅 date, 🏃‍♂️ distances, ⛰ altitude difference (if available), 🔗 registration link, and sometimes practical advice or a photo.

It's not a robot that feeds this calendar. It's done by hand, every week, sometimes every day, with the eye of a rider and the desire to share what's happening on the ground.

A tool designed for local runners

Whether you're a beginner looking for a flat 5km run, a trailer looking for an uphill challenge, or a parent wanting to enter your children in a local race, there's something for everyone.

The calendar is filterable by race typeby canton, by month, and even by keyword. You can search for "marathon", "trail Vaud", or "10 km in May" and come straight to what you need.

Some examples of popular searches:

  • Where can you run a 10km race in Switzerland in May 2025?
  • Trail in the Valais in June?
  • Next popular race near Geneva?
  • Festive race or relay in September?

A local reference, born from the field

Léman Running is not an impersonal national platform. It's a local project, born on the shores of the lake, fed by someone who also takes part in the races, talks to the volunteers, follows the organisers and knows the trails.

This proximity means that the site is often recommended between riders, shared within clubs or relayed on networks. The calendar page is by far the most consulted on the siteWith hundreds of clicks every week and high visibility on Google. Keywords such as "calendrier course Suisse", "trail Vaud" or "agenda running Genève" regularly lead to this site.

What the riders say

Their names are Julie, Marco or Sam. They don't know each other, but they all use the Léman Running calendar to plan their season.

"It's become my reflex. As soon as I want to run on a Sunday, I check it out. - Julie, Lausanne
"It's clear, well done, and local. Nothing to do with the big impersonal sites." - Marco, Annecy
"Thank you for creating it. I found my first trail thanks to you." - Sam, Geneva

Some eagerly awaited events

At the beginning of 2025, several events stand out in the research:

Other races will be added throughout the year. The calendar is updated every weekaccording to official publications or announcements received.

Where to run this weekend?

The real strength of the calendar is its flexibility.
You can use it to build your season, or simply to see where you can run this weekend.

No need to create an account or sign up for anything. You go, you filter, you find. That's all there is to it.
