Urban Xtrail: 50 km, +2000 m D+ / -2000 m D-, over 50% on roads
A demanding and spectacular route, with breathtaking views of the lake from the magnificent Lavaux vineyards. A real treat for fans of urban trail running and sporting challenges!
However, every year, the same problem persiste: the signposting leaves something to be desired. Despite repeated feedback from runners, the organisers seem to have ignored the importance of placing volunteers at strategic points, notably at the separations between the 34km and 50km courses, and in the forest near Mont Pèlerin. The result was that, once again this year, around twenty runners found themselves lost, marring the experience of many participants.
What's more, the GPS points provided don't correspond either to the actual route or to the signposting, which sometimes leads to dead ends. It's frustrating, especially on such a demanding event.
I really hope that improvements will be made for the 10th edition. Otherwise, unfortunately, this will probably be my last participation in this event, which has so much potential.
