Trail de Pérouges

A medieval journey of cobblestones, paths and legend

At the foot of one of France's most beautiful medieval towns, the Trail de Pérouges plunges you into a unique setting, between cobbled streets steeped in history and country lanes. This accessible but demanding sporting event attracts runners and walkers every year thanks to its friendly atmosphere, meticulous organisation and varied route. From the very first metres, you'll be under the spell of the event, as you step through the lower gateway into the historic heart of Pérouges, listed as one of France's most beautiful villages.

Course

• Trail de Pérouges - 12.3 km | D+ 200 m
  Leaving from the public primary school, the route passes through the medieval town, climbs through woodland towards Bourg-Saint-Christophe and returns along paths with views over Pérouges.
  70 % roads - 30 % bitumen

• Walk of the Dragons - 7 km
  Self-guided, non-timed nature trail, starting and finishing at the school. Not suitable for pushchairs. The direction of travel on the trail is reversed to encourage the runners.

• Course des Chevaliers & Ecuyers - 1.2 km (children)
  A loop around the school on 60 % paths and 40 % tarmac, for younger children from CP to CM2.

• Tour des Galopins - 800 m (children)
  Mixed mini-loops for toddlers and young children.
