The trail of the maquisards

Become part of the legend by taking part in the Trace des Maquisards de l'Ainthe first historic night-time trail linking Ambérieu-en-Bugey to Oyonnax. This race pays homage to the Resistance and the heroes of the Second World War, crossing emblematic maquis sites.

On the programme:

  • 100 km (4250 m D+) solo: a demanding route to fully experience the spirit of resistance, to be completed head-on.
  • 100km relay (2 or 4) sharing the effort and experience as a team.
  • 42 km (1300 m D+) solo: discover the main Maquis camps between Brenod and Oyonnax.
  • 28 km (1080 m D+) solo: set off from the Place d'Armes in front of the Nantua Resistance Museum for an immersive race.
  • 10 km (150 m D+) An accessible route, ideal for families or groups of friends, starting on frozen Lake Genin, lit up in blue, white and red.

La Trace des Maquisards de l'Ain is a race that is both physical and symbolic, highlighting the history and key locations of the Resistance.

All the distances are at night, full of history (there are several references on the route) and the atmosphere is great!

The scenery and the surrounding atmosphere give this race an atypical touch.

The group of volunteers dressed in Second World War clothes is incredible.
