The new 12K route now winds its way around Mont Risoux, offering an even deeper immersion in the woods and nature trails. It's still accessible to everyone and reveals a wonderful diversity of landscapes. I really enjoyed it.
I'm used to the 13km course, so I tackled the 22km yesterday - what an adventure!
the shuttles were top-notch, the route was challenging (it went uphill!), there were some lovely downhill runs in the forest and everything was well signposted! i didn't get lost (a first). an excellent, well-stocked refreshment area and a landscape above the sea of dunes.e nuage! c'était top!
great atmosphere on arrival, a large comfortable room! Everything was there!
36 km, 1950D+.
A great route, starting with a 3km flat section to warm up the legs before tackling the 3km ascent of the Dent de Vaulion. Not too technical a climb. This is followed by a nice descent before tackling the 2nd climb that leads to the first refreshment station at the Croix de Châtel.
We need to build up our strength for the descent to Montricher, because after that comes the interminable ascent of Mont Tendre, which is only tender in name! We'll have to dip into our reserves to reach the 2nd feed station a few hundred metres from the finish, but once we're at the top, the climb is forgotten because the view is so worthwhile!
Then it's a technical descent over rocks before a rolling section leading up to km 33 and its final climb before the plunge to the finish.
Trail accessible to everyone with a good level of training. Top organisation, friendly volunteers.
A fine end-of-season challenge.
An event combining sporting challenge and natural beauty!
