Corrida Bulloise

16 November 2024

La Corrida bulloise, launched in 1976 by the FSG Bulle, is an annual race in the historic center of Bulle, famous for its illuminated 1 km loop. Attracting over 4,000 runners, including 2,500 children, it is renowned for its festive atmosphere. A unique aspect of the race is the reward for the winners: a bull for the first man and a cow for the first woman, symbolizing the town of Bulle.

The event was conceived by Jean-Pierre Cuennet and Félix Robadey, replacing their initial idea of a Bulle-Moléson race with an urban race. The first edition attracted 950 participants. In 1985, for the 10th edition, the tradition of rewarding the winners with a bull and a cow began.

The Corrida bulloise, now presided over by Jean-Bernard Repond, ranks among the top 20 races in Switzerland. Participants can choose between courses ranging from 600 metres to 8 kilometers.
