This 5.6 km loop route, generally regarded as easy, offers the perfect getaway for an average duration of 1 hr 31 min. A firm favourite with walkers, this trail is best visited between March and October. From the Divonne tourist office, follow the yellow signposted path up to the right between the D984 and the golf driving range. After passing the golf course and the large Source de la Divonne, cross the D984 carefully to join the Sentier des Dames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This path climbs up to a reservoir and continues through the forest, which is mainly made up of oak, chestnut, cherry, beech and holly trees. After a few hairpin bends, you will reach a meadow and then the Mont-Mussy farm. Then cross a road and climb a path towards Mont Mourex, passing the Rendez-vous des Chasseurs, where the vegetation becomes more resinous with a notable presence of fir trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the forest, at the mountain bike crossing, turn left to reach Mont Mourex. Then walk down a meadow (where a reading table awaits you) to a place called Le Mont, under a reservoir. From here, return to Mourex and find the route de Grilly. Continue along a road in the same direction to reach the Carrefour de Tir Mir. Turn left onto the road to Chane via Les Crotte. As you approach the D984, follow the path on an embankment to the left, then cross the road again at Sentier des Dames to return to Divonne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An experience for everyone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The loop is popular for its ease of access and variety of scenery, making it ideal for families with children or beginners. Nature lovers will be delighted by the diversity of flora and fauna encountered along the way, including the many songbirds. One regular hiker notes that this loop, close to Geneva, offers a beautiful one-and-a-half-hour hike with a forest walk and superb views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breathtaking views<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The highlight of this hike is undoubtedly the summit of Mont Mourex. The gradual climb through the forest turns into a spectacular finish on an open plain, offering striking contrast and breathtaking views. A regular on the trail says that the very pretty walk is mainly in the forest, but the finish on the plain offers a very pretty view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An accessible and enjoyable walk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The trail is very busy, so expect to come across other nature lovers. Its ease and great views make it a great warm-up hike before tackling more challenging routes in the area. The terrain can be muddy in places, so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
